COVID-19 RISK MANAGEMENT

Like most of our patients, we are hyper-aware of the threat posed by COVID-19.  We have a responsibility to offer our patients and ourselves a safe working environment in which there is minimal risk of contracting the virus in this Practice.  As you are all aware, there is public panic in accessing resources such as tissues.

The following procedures are being implemented to help ensure your safety.  It appears that the virus is spread by touching objects or surfaces and then ingesting the contaminated droplets.

  1. Patients who are suffering any adverse symptoms suggestive of any virus or illness are asked to postpone their appointment.

  2. There will be ‘social distancing’ meaning that there will no hand shaking.

  3. All crockery and cutlery used in preparing refreshments such as cappuccinos will be cleaned – as usual – in the dishwasher.

  4. The door handles will be wiped with disinfectant after a patient enters and exists the Practice.

  5. The seats and other equipment will also be wiped down with disinfectant once the patient has left.

  6. Given the lack of tissues, all patients are being offered a handkerchief which they may wish to use during the session. All patients are asked to leave the used handkerchief in the plastic bag provided.

  7. Susette will be washing her hands after every patient.

Any suggestions you have will be greatly appreciated.
